The Book of the Dead is a vital source of information about Egyptian beliefs in this area. Preservation. One aspect of death was the disintegration of the various kheperu, or modes of existence.

Funerary rituals served to re-integrate these different aspects of being. This book is amazing not because of the book itself, but because of the incredible story of Eugene Bullard. I saw a paragraph about him in a display at the National Air Force Museum in Dayton and couldn't believe I hadn't heard about this man before - but I had no idea how much more there was to his story/5(5).
